What makes you happy?

Every so often while I have my morning coffee (as I wait for Pat to get up), I will fall victim to the Facebook video spiral. You know when you watch one video, and then it just kicks on to another one, and then another, and another. It happens more than I would like to admit! From the funny cat videos, to the friends pranking friends. Today I came across a nice little feel good compilation. Watching a baby get new glasses, so she can finally see. Or a child get a cochlear implant to hear his parents voices for the first time.

The one that hit me right in the heart today was the with "enchroma glasses". These glasses give people who are colour blind the ability to see colours they have never seen before. It made me realize I have totally taken this for granted. I LOVE colour. I would paint bright colours all over my house if Pat would let me (we did paint one wall in our bedroom bright teal!!...baby steps!). I go through weekly phases of what my favourite colour is. I have even told Pat that I want only people to wear bright colours at my funeral, NO BLACK.

Colour brings an involuntary happiness to me. Which brings me to my new task. A few years ago I did the "100 happy days" challenge. For 100 days you take a picture and document what made you happy. I am going to do it again this year starting tomorrow. I invite others to sign up for the challenge, or follow along and post your happy things on my Facebook page. I think this is a great challenge for EVERYONE to do, not just those suffering from infertility. Everyone gets caught up in the routine of life and forgets to appreciate the small things in life. So join me tomorrow as I start my #100happydays.

*Now I have to try to not make everyday about an animal or food.....not promising anything ;)
