Mother's Day

First off I want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing, hardworking Moms out there. Without you, none of us would be here. Happy Mother's Day to my (favourite) mother-in-law. Thank you for raising your son into the man I love today. Happy Mother's Day to my own mother. My mom taught me that no dream is too big if you set your mind to it.
Mother's Day is a fun day for most. Moms, new moms, soon-to-be moms. It is a day they get to celebrate and enjoy. But for others, it becomes a day of dread. Those who have lost their mothers, those who have lost their babies, and those who are yearning for the day.
This year has been the worst for me. Not only is the day itself hard to cope with, but I got my monthly reminder I'm not pregnant the day prior, and I'm also nervous of our upcoming IVF cycle. The whole day has been an emotional roller coaster. I received several texts (which I am very thankful for) that were simple "hearts". Got stuck in a line between 2 families that knew each other, and just preceded to not notice Pat and I between them and just let their kids run around back and forth (that took a lot of energy to not say something). The all day Facebook updates of all the sweet things my peers kids have done for them (I have learned over the years to try to avoid Facebook).
The most emotional thing for me today is also my "Happy Thing" for the day. Knowing that I'm usually a basketcase for the day, Pat got me a gift. We saw this a while ago, and thought it was cute. It was a "Fertility Egg". A simple egg shaped glass with a simple design on the inside. On the outside of the box reads:
"Creating something new is quite the task, for help you sometimes have to ask. A token for you, and my wish for your new start, that you soon will add love for a new life to your heart."
For those of you yet to be called "Mom", this day will pass. One day your time will come and you too will get to enjoy the day. For those of you who are Moms, I hoped you enjoyed some quality time with your family <3
